Location and Description

The Ranch is located approx. 5 miles north of Cobano, in the Southern part of the Nicoya Peninsula,

Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica.

A semi -circle ridge-line and foothills form the Northern boundary, falling off to the South to the Rio Ario,

one of the principal rivers of the Nicoya Peninsula.

The Ranch covers a total area of 341 Hectares (842 acres),

1/3 of which is covered with hardwood forest, plus some Teak.

Proven Drought Proof Water Supply

Several springs originate in the hills, 5 of which are year round creeks, flowing across the rolling terrain of the Ranch, with others being intermittent streams that add to the already bountiful water supply.

These sources are used for drinking water, stock watering, aqua culture and irrigation. All of them empty into the Rio Ario.

This abundance of water make this Ranch unique to the area, in that other ranches are dependent upon the 6 month rainy season (for the amount of cattle they can support) to meet their water needs.

This season's rain is now tapering off into the 6month dry season, (January - May).

Pastureland

The Ranch has 25 individual pastures, covering about 2/3 of the total area. With 1/3 being held as hardwood forest areas, in order to protect the water sources.

With distant views of the Pacific Ocean on the horizon, while enjoying the cool breezes and river wildlife.
